About the Role:
The System Test Engineer will design, develop, and execute regression test procedures for military ground vehicles. The primary focus will be supporting system regression testing for both internal and external system software releases. A secondary focus will involve supporting vehicle-level system regression testing. Testing will be conducted in virtual and hardware test environments, including on-vehicle testing.
Hybrid or Onsite:
- Onsite - In the office daily. 9/80 work schedule
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree Computer, Systems or Electrical Engineering or equivalent working experience.
- 7+ years experience in systems/regression testing, including debugging complex vehicle systems.
- 5+ years of experience in test case authoring, from Software Requirements Specification (SRS) to complex system test procedures, including boundary condition and negative case testing.
- Proven Experience working within a cross-organizational vehicle software program team.
- Strong written and verbal skills to convey testing status, risks and issues across multiple levels.
- Experience completing professional contractual documentation, driving peer reviews, and finalizing program deliverables.
- Experience using tools like JIRA, DOORs, or TestRail for managing test cases, tracking defects, and reporting test results.
- Strong understanding of regression testing principles, including the ability to prioritize test cases for maximum coverage with minimal effort.
- Perform risk assessments to determine the priority of regression tests based on the impact of changes.
- Ability to escalate issues promptly with supporting factual information.
- Knowledge of vehicle communication protocols (e.g., CAN bus, LIN, Ethernet).
- Ability to analyze large datasets or logs generated during testing to identify trends and issues.
- Generate detailed test reports that include metrics such as test coverage, defect density, and pass/fail rates.
- Familiarity with one or more system testing or requirements tools. (I.e. JIRA, DOORs, Zephyr)
- Knowledgeable in systems design and systems test.
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends, evenings and overtime as required.
- Must be able to climb on/off and work around military vehicles.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience working on ground combat/automotive vehicles desired.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Familiarity with test automation frameworks.
- Experience with Agile projects.
- Ability to travel nationally/internationally on occasion.
