Description
Job Description: We are seeking experienced and accomplished prosecutors for positions in our Public Corruption Bureau. The bureau investigates and prosecutes crimes committed by public servants and other public officials. It also investigates allegations against civilians who attempt to subvert the integrity of public servants by offering bribes. The bureau investigates complaints from the public and works hand-in-hand with the New York City Police Department's Internal Affairs Bureau, the State Grievance Committees, Appellate Division, the City Department of Investigation, and a host of other agencies on a state and federal level to safeguard the public from corruption allegations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Prosecuting offenders committing the above-mentioned offenses Managing complex investigations by providing legal advice and direction to our law enforcement partners. Drafting various legal process, including wiretaps, CSOs, GPS warrants, and other documents. All phases of litigation except appeals. Qualifications: Interested applicants must possess a J.D. degree, be an active member of the New York State bar in good standing. Applicants must also have: Experience in handling all aspects of a criminal investigation and prosecution. Excellent writing skills and experience drafting search warrants. Grand jury and felony trial experience. Extensive knowledge of New York Penal and Criminal Procedure Laws. Ability to devise creative solutions to investigatory and legal issues. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Preferred experience: Familiarity with all aspects of New York Police Department and law enforcement practice and procedures. Experience with handling referrals from NYPD/IAB and NYC Department of Investigation. Knowledge of the New York Rules of Professional Conduct for Attorneys Basic understanding of financial transactions, social media platforms, and the internet.
