ABOUT THE JOB:

The Director, Infrastructure Design and Construction will lead and oversee all aspects of design and construction delivery for the organization's infrastructure projects. This role requires an experienced professional with expertise in the overall project lifecycle including site planning, infrastructure design, estimating, third party bid process, permitting, and contract and project management. The ideal candidate will provide strategic direction, manage internal and external teams, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements. This position will also provide strategic direction and oversight to field management on any facility related projects to provide a seamless connection between corporate construction and brand standards and field implementation. This role requires a hands-on leader who excels at driving project execution while managing and mentoring internal and external teams

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Responsible for managing multiple capital projects of varying size and complexity that include the management of the project budget, schedule, engineering design, construction contractor management, third party inspections and project close-out documentation.
  • Develop and maintain the organization's design and construction standards.
  • Evaluate and determine the engineering and construction requirements related to site selection, layout, utilities and drainage, and renovations for new and existing facilities.
  • Coordinate preconstruction actions including estimating, scheduling, value engineering and procurement.
  • Partner with internal departments and field operations leadership to plan, oversee and complete infrastructure projects.
  • Develop appropriate communication channels to ensure all field and corporate stakeholders remain aligned with project progress budget, timelines and other project activities.
  • Implement and maintain effective management, planning and cost control systems.
  • Identify and evaluate risk(s) that may have an impact on the project.
  • Administer contracts in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures .
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and implement corrective action.
  • Coordinate and act as liaison with local municipality for processing of architectural and engineering drawings and assist in the preparation of submittal packages.
  • Ensure projects comply with local, state, and federal land development regulations.
  • Review and interpret engineering plans, drainage reports, grading plans, and utility designs.
  • Conduct site evaluations in partnership with real estate and operations teams to assess feasibility and constructability.
  • Supervise general contractors, architects, engineers, and third-party vendors to maintain quality and compliance.
  • Ability to quickly identify and drive to the optimal solution when presented with a series of constraints
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, zoning laws, and permitting processes.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related field (All applicable licenses must be current).
  • Minimum of 10 years of engineering and/or construction/facilities project management experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years progressive leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of civil site design, grading, drainage, utilities, and roadway design.
  • Ability to drive big picture goals while valuing and maintaining a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytic, influencing, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Possesses strong presentation skills and communicates clearly and professionally at various levels both inside and outside the company.
  • Must demonstrate attention to detail and possess a strong ability to set strategic priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Prociency in Windows environment and MS oce Suite including Excel and Outlook.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time.
