*As part of Marvell's Connectivity Business Unit, you will join an industry-leading team that develops cutting-edge infrastructure solutions for AI/ML scale-up and scale-out for data center customers. Our AEC Applications Team is at the forefront of designing innovative solutions for 400 Gigabit, 800 Gigabit, and 1.6 Terabit Ethernet AEC products.
We are looking for a customer-facing, hands-on Principal Applications Engineer who is passionate about solving complex technical challenges and delivering exceptional solutions. Your work will directly impact the success of our products and our customers' ability to deploy transformative data center technologies.

What You Can Expect

  • Own and Resolve Customer Issues: Proactively support Marvell's AEC PAM4 DSP products by addressing customer issues and driving them to resolution.
  • Be the Bridge Between Customers and Engineering: Act as the primary interface between customers and Marvell's engineering teams to address technical challenges.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with Field Application Engineers (FAEs) and Product Line Managers (PLMs) to gather customer insights and communicate them effectively to marketing and engineering.
  • Drive Design Wins: Assist the sales team in securing key design wins for Marvell AEC solutions by providing technical expertise and guidance.
  • Provide Hands-On Support: Review customer schematics and layouts, perform hands-on debugging and bring-up of customer cables, and offer on-site troubleshooting when needed.
  • Deliver Technical Expertise: Support customer lab/field trials, understand application environments, and offer insightful recommendations to enhance product performance.
  • Develop Technical Collateral: Create valuable resources, including application notes, user guides, release notes, white papers, and technical documents, to support customers and internal team

What We're Looking For

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 5-10 years of professional experience.
  • Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields with 5 years of experience.

Technical Expertise:

  • Deep understanding of analog/digital circuits and system hardware.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on lab experience with SerDes TX and RX validation.
  • Proficient with lab equipment, including high-speed oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic/protocol analyzers, and traffic generators.
  • Strong understanding of high-speed schematic and design layout (PCB layout, signal integrity, board assembly, and manufacturing).
  • Familiarity with software programming languages (C, Python) is a plus.
  • Experience with high-speed data communication interfaces and signal integrity analysis.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a passion for hands-on troubleshooting.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with diverse teams and customers.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to build strong customer relationships.
  • Detail-oriented, self-driven, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.

Expected Base Pay Range (USD)

154,680 - 231,700, $ per annum

The successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
