The USC POWER Lab (https://powerlab.usc.edu/) is seeking a motivated, inquisitive, and detail-oriented Project Assistant. Under the direction ofDr. Pang, the Project Assistant will support the day-to-day activities of research studies funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Tobacco-Related Disease Prevention Program (TRDRP) focused on alcohol and tobacco use in women and vulnerable populations. Specifically, this position requires recruitment and screening of research participants, executing human data collection protocols, handling and analysis of human tissue, collaborating with internal and external entities related to the project, data management, administrative tasks for the project and lab, overseeing volunteer research assistants, and all other tasks-related to completing externally funded projects. The Project Assistant will be responsible for hitting recruitment targets, screening research literature, abstracting data, designing tables and figures, supporting statistical analyses, assisting with technical reports, and close collaboration with Dr. Pang and the investigative team. The successful candidate will be able to work well as a collaborative member of a research team, and have excellent organizational, problem solving and interpersonal skills. Experience working in a behavioral research setting is preferred. The position requires 5 days/wk attendance on site at theUSCHealth Sciences Campus and County Hospital in Los Angeles, CA. Flexibility to work weekends as needed is required. Applications without a cover letter and CV will be considered incomplete and not considered.
