GENERAL SUMMARY:

This position will report to the Henry Ford Medical Group (HFMG) Medical Director of Health Advancement and Professional Excellence. The HFMG Office of Health Advancement and Professional Excellence serves as a strategic partner to multiple Henry Ford Health (HFH), academic, and community stakeholders through community outreach and engagement; workforce development initiatives such as RYSE MED and related pathway efforts that strengthen access, preparation, and long-term success in health professions careers; and targeted initiatives and capacity building that support excellence among physicians, researchers, and advanced practice practitioners.

Job Overview:

Reporting to department physician leader(s) and administrator, responsible for facilitating project work by providing direction, leadership, and day-to-day management of department projects and initiatives. Must coordinate department projects, formulate needed enhancements for processes, and work with internal and external stakeholders to successfully meet established goals and deadlines. Coordinator must demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills in working independently to complete projects and assignments

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work in concert with division leadership to determine the appropriate focus and direction of department initiatives and projects.
  • Create, design, and manage project plans and timelines.
  • Assign tasks related to project work to other administrative staff as appropriate.
  • Develop and implement solutions to improve current processes and procedures related to project work.
  • Responsible for leading and serving on cross-functional teams across the organization representing the department.
  • Project management/coordination activities to ensure all process workflows are being handled within the established time parameters by both internal departments and outside stakeholders.
  • Perform administrative follow-up by keeping track of major projects and tasks assigned by departmental leadership.
  • Create and manage budgets related to department projects and initiatives and monitor spending.
  • Design reports and distribute to appropriate parties.
  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships across operational departments and with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as key contact between the department and other internal and external customers.
  • Safeguards and protects confidential information.
  • Other duties as requested.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • One to three (1-3) years of project management/coordination experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments, work independently, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
