Job Description




As a Security Officer - Community Patrol Driver in Summit, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a commercial real estate location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to calls for service with calm professionalism. You will document observations, communicate clearly with site contacts and/or dispatch, and support a people-first culture through reliable service, teamwork, integrity, and innovative problem solving. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a commercial property location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of interior spaces, common areas, parking areas, and the building perimeter; document findings and report maintenance and/or security-related concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical events, and/or fire alarms, and notify appropriate contacts as required by post orders.
  • Control access at designated entry points by monitoring arrivals, verifying authorization as directed, and assisting with visitor and/or contractor check-in processes.
  • Complete detailed shift reports, incident reports, and patrol logs; use radios, phones, and/or access control systems to communicate with property management and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
