Job Description




As a Security Officer - Flex Concierge in Birmingham, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Security Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support patients, visitors, and staff with clear communication and customer service, while documenting activity and using computer or tablet tools as needed. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, location policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare setting.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical facility disturbances, access concerns, and requests for assistance from clinical and facilities teams.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or potential hazards; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor access points and visitor flow, help to verify credentials and/or visitor authorization per location policy, and document activity in required logs and reports.
  • Operate communications and security-related systems such as radios, cameras, and alarm panels as assigned, and escalate concerns to location leadership and/or emergency services when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification, preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
