BE PART OF THE CONNECTION

As a Principal DevOPs Engineer on the Billing Operations team you will implement and maintain a Cloud platforms, including troubleshooting of system and data issues for both lower and production environments. Additionally, you will collaborate with the software development and/or engineering teams to streamline and simplify the deployment process and serve as the first line of contact for highly complex production issues.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Contributing to the technical direction, execution and final decisions for all software solutions created (includes information architecture, software architecture, software design, testing, automation, analytics and instrumentation)
  • Designing, implementing, monitoring, enhancing and troubleshooting systems in assigned areas
  • Defining cloud strategy, roadmaps, and target-state reference architectures for workloads (network, security, data, application)
  • Collaborating with leadership and key stakeholders to define and develop technology strategy, technology standards, roadmaps, and practices
  • Collaborating with business and technical teams to discuss projects, review conflicts/gaps between functional goals and existing capabilities, and put forward solutions to issues

In this role you will help the team prioritize and build the most impactful features to Spectrum's customers. You will excel in this role if you can serve as a mentor to help guide and train other engineers on the team and take ownership and make technical decisions on software development projects.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM

Required Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • Software engineering: 8+ years
    • Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP (multi-cloud familiarity), hybrid integration with on-prem: 2-3 years
    • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, CloudFormation/Bicep; GitOps workflows: 2-3 years
    • Automation and CI/CD: pipelines (GitHub Actions/Jenkins/Argo), artifact management, blue/green and canary deployments: 5-8 years
    • Helm and other Kubernetes management tools (ArgoCD, EKS/GKE): 2-3 years
    • Designing multi-region, highly available, resilient architectures (RTO/RPO, DR, backup)
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Abilities:
    • Keep current with trends and technological innovations in the industry in order to contribute to the execution of proofs-of-concept for new approaches
    • Adhere to best practices for code development, version control, continuous integration/delivery, and test/build automation
    • Write clear technical documentation for use by developers and testers
    • Work under limited direction and handle multiple assignments simultaneously
    • Identify issues of a highly complex nature and effectively resolve
    • Demonstrated in-depth analytical and troubleshooting
  • Skills:
    • Extensive experience with collaborating and building team consensus when interacting with both the leadership and the implementation teams
    • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Knowledge:
    • Thorough understanding of software engineering and object oriented design principles
    • Demonstrated in-depth and knowledge of front-end development across Java, mobile app and/or web technologies
    • Familiarity with dependency management and build systems like Maven and Ant
    • Expert knowledge and implementation with open source software such as Angular or React
  • Hybrid Schedule: Four in-office days weekly

    • AWS Solutions Architect Professional; Azure Solutions Architect Expert; GCP Professional Cloud Architect
