The Position

Welcome to Holly Springs, North Carolina- home to Roche/Genentech's largest-ever investment: a $2B greenfield start-up where next-generation technology, high-performing teams and Operational Excellence converge to create the global standard for high-volume, highly-efficient Drug Product manufacturing.

The facility's core is defined by Innovation - leveraging advanced automation, robotics, digital tools, real-time data analytics, and simple, streamlined processes to produce the highest quality medicines. This plant meets today's demand for CVRM (Cardiovascular, Renal, and Metabolism) medicines and is scalable to grow with the portfolio, which focuses on next-generation metabolic medicines specifically targeting the global obesity epidemic and Type 2 diabetes. This is a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a high-level of accountability, with planned launch in 2028.

The Opportunity:

As a member of the Holly Springs Leadership Team, you will report directly to the Vice President/Site Head and spearhead efforts to Start-up and commercialize operations of this Greenfield site to enable 2028 launch. You will manage the PMO office and ensure all strategic programs to enable Operational Performance of Holly Springs are delivered on time. You will align the site operation with corporate operating principles, pharma vision and network strategies. Your immediate focus will be facilitating the successful Operational startup of the facility with a vision to achieving the long-term strategic goals for Holly Springs to enable full deployment of new assets and new products to our site. You will work in close collaboration with global leaders in the network, peers in the Holly Springs Leadership Team, and the PT Manufacturing team, you will drive the translation of network plans to the site level and vice versa.

You will gain a deep understanding of long-term business needs, identifying performance gaps, and actively shaping strategic priorities for both people and the broader site strategy and performance indicators. In this newly established role, you will provide a distinctive opportunity to actively integrate our culture initiatives, performance improvement activities, and overall site strategy. Your primary focus will involve leading the development and implementation of management strategies and goals, driving Operational performance improvement at Holly Springs, and actively contributing to the broader site strategy.

  • You will lead and coordinate Operational startup of the facility, coordinating multiple operational workstreams.

  • You will lead the Project Management Office for Key Performance Enabling Projects at Holly Springs.

  • You will act as a crucial thought partner to the Site Head and Site Leadership Team of Holly Springs.

  • You will take the lead in the development and execution of comprehensive strategies, along with corresponding goals and KPIs, spanning the different departments and portfolio.

  • You will ensure site alignment with key stakeholders across the Roche Network and local North Carolina partners.

  • You will partner with site and network people and culture leaders to drive site workforce strategy to enable full deployment of new assets and new products to our site.

  • You will lead complex and cross-functional initiatives across the site in a timely and effective manner.

  • You will serve as the primary site contact for network strategy planning and deployment activities.

  • You will lead cross-functional projects integral to the development and implementation of the Holly Springs site strategy.

  • You will support efforts to cultivate an environment that makes Genentech/Roche and the site a great place to work. Actively shapes organizational operating models.

  • You will collaborate across a broad set of stakeholders, spanning all sites in the network and integrating Holly Springs with the PT network.

  • You will articulate our vision for the future culture and its impact on patients.

  • You will deliver insights and recommendations that accelerate transformation and strategy.

  • You will translate mindset shifts into action, fostering experimentation and learning.

  • You will leverage diversity in culture, thinking, and approach as assets.

  • You will lead, motivate & coach a network of leaders, managers and/or highly experienced specialists/experts, empowers and inspires employees to achieve PTM goals by Influencing on all hierarchy levels from shop floor up to senior leadership team.

  • You will facilitate strategic planning, goal setting and KPIs for the site.

  • You will lead change on site level, role model servant leadership.

Who you are:

  • You have a Bachelor's Degree required (engineering or science) - Graduate Degree or MBA is preferred

  • You have 10 or more years work experience in the pharmaceutical or related industry with at least 6 or more years of people and project management experience and 4 or more years' in manufacturing or quality management experience.

  • You have strong influencing experience preferably with working across diverse groups/ complex organizations, either through direct leadership of teams and/or indirectly in a matrix leadership role

  • You have demonstrated the ability to thrive in ambiguity, challenging the status quo.

  • You are a strategic system thinker and have the ability to translate strategies into actionable plans.

  • You have significant senior leadership experience required

  • You are able to build relationships, networks and engage different stakeholders in an international organization

While initially you will perform a mix of remote work we will transition to fully onsite work by mid-2026.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location for this position of Holly Springs is $136,000 - $252,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, level, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
