The Center for Policy Impact in Global Health (CPIGH) within the Duke Global Health Institute and the Duke-Margolis Institute for Health Policy ("Margolis Institute")-both in the Duke School of Medicine-are seeking a postdoctoral scientist to contribute quantitative and modeling expertise to two major research projects. The principal investigator of the first project, Professor Osondu Ogbuoji, is based at CPIGH; this project is funded by the Gates Foundation and examines the likely drivers of improvement in child survival worldwide from now to 2050. One investigator of the second project is Professor Evan Myers, Core Faculty Member of the Margolis Institute; this second project is funded from NIH/NCI Cancer Intervention and Surveillance Modeling Network (CISNET) comparative modeling funding and will develop and apply population-level, natural history models of uterine cancer.

The fellow will join established, collaborative teams at Duke University. This position is ideal for a highly skilled analyst with strong quantitative, modeling, and problemsolving abilities and a proven ability to communicate complex scientific methods and results to policymakers and the public. Responsibilities include managing complex and adhoc datasets, creating clear and compelling visualizations, and conducting advanced analyses such as life table decompositions and comparative trends in disease burden across different countries. The successful candidate will be adept at crafting datadriven narratives aligned with project priorities, have a strong record of peerreviewed publications, and demonstrate excellent presentation skills for engaging diverse stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a minimum of a PhD in disciplines such as epidemiology, health demography, bioinformatics, statistics, computer science, or engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will bring experience or a very strong foundational understanding in areas such as highdimensional data analysis and translational research, and must be able to manage complex and adhoc datasets, produce highquality visualizations, and conduct advanced analyses across both projects.

Position Description:

One position is available immediately as Postdoctoral Fellow. This position is based in Durham, NC.

Job Responsibilities: The postdoctoral fellow will provide leadership for all project activities, including refining analytic methodologies, formulating key research questions, implementing best practices in data management and analysis, conducting statistical analyses, disseminating findings to project partners, and contributing to manuscript preparation. At CPIGH, the fellow will principally work with two faculty who are investigators on the child survival project: the Osondu Ogbuoji (CPIGH Deputy Director and project PI) and Professor Gavin Yamey (CPIGH Director). The fellow will also work with investigators from the CISNET-funded project on uterine cancer-Professors Laura Havrilesky and Evan Myers-and Professor Gillian Schmidler, Deputy Director of the Margolis Institute.

Anticipated Pay Range:

Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $64,170 to $72,602.
