This position will work directly with School of Veterinary Medicine Principal Investigator(s) and/or Research Program Director(s) to carryout research administration functions related to sponsored grants, agreements, or award management (proposal preparation through closeout). This position will assist all departments and programs in the SVM with creation of agreements, proposals and internal routing (RAMP) records to campus for approval and submission. This position will work under the Research Administration group and be part of a team that values respect, exceptional communication, and customer service to both SVM and campus colleagues as well as external partners.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • 15% Assist Research Administration Director with research training proram management/administration as directed.

  • 5% Serves as a key resource to leadership and staff in the unit as well as a liaison to partners and stakeholders

  • 5% Executes research administration operational policies and procedures including financial, administrative, staffing, and compliance on behalf of a unit

  • 50% Executes activities related to proposal submission, contract negotiation, and/or award setup on behalf of a unit

  • 10% Executes activities related to financial compliance, audit, or reporting on behalf of a unit

  • 10% Reviews and approves programmatic transactions spanning the life-cycle of sponsored projects to ensure compliance with institutional and/or sponsor policies and procedures

  • 5% Provides training to faculty, staff, and/or administrators within the unit regarding policy, procedure, and/or execution of sponsored project administration

Compensation:

Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications

Required Qualifications:

- 5 - 7 years' research administration, including drafting and negotiating agreements, preparing proposals, managing awards and compliance and/or postaward activities, proposal review and/or post-award activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree preferred

- JD preferred

- Experience drafting legal agreements

Education:

No minimum degree required; candidates with relevant experience with research administration are encouraged to apply, including any with advanced degree experience- MS, PhD, JD or other equivalent training.
