We are seeking a Crane Operator for County Materials in Astatula, WI

The Crane Operator safely operates cranes to lift, move, and place precast materials, equipment, and large components on job sites. This role performs daily equipment checks, communicates with ground crews, and follows all safety guidelines. Ideal candidates have strong heavy-equipment skills, attention to detail, and experience working outdoors in construction environments.

Job Duties:


  • Operate cranes to lift and position precast products and heavy materials
  • Complete daily pre-checks, equipment cleaning, refueling, and monthly inspections
  • Set up, assemble, and disassemble crane equipment
  • Maintain clear radio and visual communication with ground crews
  • Follow OSHA, ANSI, and company safety procedures
  • Document loads, inspections, and daily activities
  • Support other crane operators as needed


Work Environment:


  • Outdoor job sites; exposure to heat, cold, noise, vibration, and weather
  • Work independently and with installation crews
  • Overtime as needed
  • Requires strong focus, situational awareness, and clear communication


Physical Requirements:


  • Frequent: standing, sitting, reaching, bending, gripping, equipment controls
  • Occasional: walking, climbing, kneeling, pushing/pulling, lifting up to 25 lbs
  • Continuous: visual focus, depth perception, hearing
  • Ability to work in outdoor conditions year-round


Experience & Qualifications


  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 4+ years of experience operating cranes or other heavy equipment
  • Knowledge of OSHA and ANSI safety standards
  • Strong verbal communication skills and commitment to safety
  • NCCCO (or equivalent) crane operator certification
  • CDL Class B license
  • CDL Class A license (a plus)
  • Experience in precast, construction, or field installation environments
