Summary
The Senior Team Lead, Carrier Sales (FTL) is responsible for leading the Carrier Sales team within DSV Road's freight brokerage operations. This role oversees day-to-day carrier sales activities, drives team performance, develops carrier relationships, and ensures the successful execution of full truckload (FTL) freight movements. The position partners with internal departments to support service reliability, capacity procurement, and operational efficiency while aligning team performance with company goals and customer requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Carrier Sales Representatives, including setting expectations, providing feedback, and conducting performance evaluations to achieve individual and team goals.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers to ensure reliable capacity, service performance, and responsiveness to customer needs.
- Negotiate carrier rates and service terms to balance profitability, capacity availability, and customer service requirements.
- Identify, qualify, and onboard new carriers to expand the carrier network and support service offerings.
- Monitor and manage freight movements to ensure on-time delivery, proper communication, and compliance with customer and company requirements.
- Collaborate with operations, customer service, and other internal teams to resolve service issues and improve overall operational efficiency.
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify performance gaps and implement corrective actions and process improvements.
- Implement best practices and standard procedures to improve workflow, consistency, and productivity across the carrier sales function.
- Manage internal and external relationships, including customer service coordination and cross-functional collaboration within DSV.
- Promote company culture and strategy through daily leadership, communication, and support of team members.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 3 years of Carrier Sales experience, with a focus on Full Truckload (FTL).
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Minimum 2 years of domestic freight brokerage experience.
- Strong understanding of FTL operations, market dynamics, and industry practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of carrier sales or brokerage experience preferred.
- 3+ years of leadership experience within an operations or brokerage environment preferred.
- Spanish language skills (verbal) preferred.

Physical Demands

Work Environment
This position operates primarily in an office environment with a low to moderate noise level. The role involves frequent interaction with internal employees, customers, and external carriers via phone, email, and messaging systems. The position may occasionally require extended work hours based on business needs, shipment activity, or service disruptions. The work setting is fast-paced and time-sensitive, requiring responsiveness to changing operational demands while maintaining service quality and communication standards.
For this position, the expected base pay range is $62,500 - $84,500 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including relevant experience, skills, education or certifications, and geographic location, consistent with applicable laws and company policy.
