*Job Title: Member Services Representative / Care Coordination Support (Entry Level)* *Job Summary* The Member Services Representative supports MediCal members by identifying, triaging, and resolving continuityofcare needs. This role assists members with provider selection, authorizations, benefits education, and coordination of care across multiple healthcare partners. The position also supports digital and webbased member inquiries and collaborates closely with internal teams to ensure a positive member experience.
*Key Responsibilities* * Identify, triage, and transition continuityofcare issues to ensure members receive uninterrupted healthcare services * Assist members with selecting Primary Care Providers (PCPs) and explain available programs, benefits, and covered services * Coordinate care between the health plan and internal/external partners, including: * Network and nonnetwork providers * Radiology Benefit Managers (RBM) * Specialty Pharmacy * Durable Medical Equipment (DME) vendors * Tertiary care facilities and centers of excellence (e.g., UCLA and similar institutions) * Support authorization processing, including Treatment Authorization Requests (TARs), and assist with eligibility and claimrelated inquiries * Research, document, and resolve issues related to other health coverage, notifying Recoveries and DSS as appropriate * Provide guidance to members on using the online member portal, including account access, available tools, and general navigation * Respond to and assist with member web inquiries in collaboration with the Call Center management team * Accurately document all member interactions using designated calltracking and casemanagement systems * Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and organizational policies at all times *Required Skills* * Strong customer service and call center support skills * Working knowledge of MediCal programs and healthcare terminology * Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) * Ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously while on calls * Clear verbal and written communication skills * Attention to detail and accurate data entry *Top Skills* * Microsoft Office * Customer Service * MediCal * Medical Terminology * Call Center Operations *Systems & Tools (Training Provided)* Candidates must be comfortable learning and navigating multiple systems, including: * Eligibility systems and subscreens * MEDSLite and CalSAWS * Authorization Processing (TAR) * Adjudication and Claim Search * Problem Claim Check * RBM platforms * Provider systems * HIS Call Tracking System * Member Grievance (COG) * Cisco Agent Desktop * Standard reporting tools and procedures *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract position based out of Santa Barbara, CA. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
