Airgas is Hiring for a Medical Sales Specialist for the Gulf Coast region. Baton Rogue is the central point of the territory, but can be located in New Orleans as well.

As a Medical Sales Specialist, you will drive area revenue growth by identifying profitable business opportunities and evolving existing sales models to meet shifting customer needs. You will serve as a strategic bridge between the field and corporate, managing technical projects from design to execution while tracking progress against long-term corporate goals. Additionally, you will support Account Managers by developing data-driven analysis tools and monthly financial reports to ensure operational excellence and budget compliance

  • Drive business and sales growth within the designated area.

  • Engage with customers to thoroughly understand both current and future needs.

  • Identify profitable growth opportunities and actively participate in transformational initiatives, such as business model evolution.

  • Develop and implement a robust "controlling" model to enhance the accuracy of business activity analysis.

  • Contribute to the monitoring and progress tracking of the five-year strategic corporate program.

  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly Flash analysis.

  • Execute assigned projects, which typically involve design, engineering, and execution, under routine supervision.

  • Collaborate closely with internal departments (engineering, manufacturing) and external suppliers as needed.

  • Guarantee that all projects adhere to technical specifications, deadlines, and budget constraints.

Required

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a science, business, or a related field is strongly preferred

  • Sales Experience: A minimum of five years of proven outside business-to-business (B2B) sales experience is mandatory, including success in solution-selling concepts and a demonstrated history of managing a defined sales territory, preferrably in the medical field or medical gas industry.

  • Consultative Sales: Proven success using a consultative sales approach to establish a comprehensive mix of sales solutions and products by providing multiple layers of customer value.

  • Business Acumen: Demonstrated success leveraging a deep understanding of the customer's business, current macroeconomic and microeconomic trends, industry trends, and identifying potential new business opportunities.

  • Technology Proficiency: Experience with collaborative customer success management (CSM) platforms, such as Google Space and Salesforce.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Prioritization: Knowledge of customer segmentation and the ability to prioritize targeting customers that deliver the highest value to Airgas.

  • Communication: Must possess excellent written and oral communication, listening, organizational, and presentation skills.

  • Industry Knowledge (a plus): Familiarity with industrial and specialty gases, or prior industrial gas/welding supply sales experience.

Other Requirements:

  • Transportation: Must have reliable transportation, a current driver's license, and minimum liability insurance as required by the state of vehicle registration.
