Job Summary
The Brokerage Linehaul Supervisor oversees linehaul pickup and delivery operations by coordinating the activity of contracted motor carriers, managing daily workflow requirements, and supporting reliable, compliant, and high-quality transportation execution.

Primary Objectives
  • Oversee day-to-day linehaul operations to support timely and dependable interstate transportation.
  • Maintain effective coordination with motor carriers, agents, and internal teams to support smooth shipment execution and issue resolution.
  • Monitor shipment activity, documentation accuracy, and operational performance to uphold service and compliance standards.
  • Support continuous operational consistency by maintaining processes, requirements, and communication practices across linehaul activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide direction to contracted motor carriers and coordinate daily linehaul activities to support smooth transportation workflows.
  • Monitor shipment progress, identify issues as they arise, and take timely actions to keep moves on track.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date shipment details, carrier information, and documentation within TMS and related systems.
  • Communicate regularly with carriers, agents, and internal teams to clarify requirements, share updates, and support efficient coordination.
  • Review carrier performance indicators, track service trends, and address concerns with appropriate follow-up actions.
  • Keep operational records organized and complete, including shipment notes, carrier documentation, and compliance files.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, agents, and carriers to address service delays, equipment concerns, or scheduling conflicts.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding shipment status, service expectations, and documentation needs throughout the shipment lifecycle.
  • Maintain consistency across linehaul activities through operational reviews, reporting, and process refinement.
  • Maintain familiarity with established procedures and support their application across linehaul workflows and carrier interactions.
  • Support TMS data accuracy by reviewing entries, correcting inconsistencies, and following up as needed.
  • Share operational insights and observations with leadership to help inform process consistency and quality.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent (HSED) required
  • Associates degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferred
Work Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, linehaul, and over -the-road operations required
  • Experience working with contracted motor carriers or within a freight brokerage environment preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of interstate linehaul operations, transportation workflows, and motor carrier practices.
  • Ability to assess situations, resolve issues, and make informed operational decisions independently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with carriers, agents, and internal teams.
  • High attention to detail with strong documentation and organizational capabilities.
  • Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish preferred.

The salary range listed is based on the geographic zone associated with this role: Compton, CA. Starting pay will be determined by job-related factors including experience, education, and business needs and may be modified at any time.
Zone 2: $72,000 - $80,000
