Cereal Sanitation Janitor - Night Shift

As a sanitation janitor, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards across the facility, performing tasks such as waste disposal, floor care, and restroom sanitation. Your role is crucial in ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all occupants.

Shift Hours:

  • 8-hour shift
    • 3rd shift: 10:30 pm to 6:30 am
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, any shift, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Plant operation is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Pay:

  • $21.21 per hour for 36 months of employment (90% of full rate of pay)
  • $23.64 per hour after 36 months of employment (100% full rate of pay)

About our Location:

The Buffalo, NY plant is located on the waterfront, providing convenient access to Canada and major cities like Toronto and New York City. It offers employees opportunities to progress in their careers through seniority-based

bidding and apprenticeship programs. The plant organizes events such as a summer barbecue, a family picnic at a local amusement park during downtime, and a holiday dinner for all three shifts served by the leadership team.

occurred a day before its opening in 1940.

    • Completing sanitation activities outlined in Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and daily housekeeping schedule.
    • Conducting informal sanitation and GMP inspections for regulatory compliance
    • Responsible for maintenance of sanitation documentation, including full work order process.
    • Safe operation and maintenance of sanitation equipment
    • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance.
    • Assist in training new employees.

What you have to offer:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
  • Industrial sanitation experience in manufacturing or related industry preferred
  • Ability to become Chemical Handling qualified.
  • Ability to become Forklift certified.
  • Experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred.

Physical requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces
  • Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms
  • Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, a hair/beard net and gloves when required
  • Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions
  • Willing to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery
  • Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a food environment
