Temple University's Student Financial Services Department is searching for an Assistant Director of Financial Aid! Become a part of the Temple family and you will have access to the following: Salary Range:$49,250-$62,000 Position Summary The Assistant Director directs loan processing, including awarding, origination, exception resolution, disbursement activity, and required monthly reconciliations. The position has primary responsibility for ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness across loan operations and for resolving high-level or non-standard loan issues. The Assistant Director manages and maintains loan functionality across Banner, EdConnect, Elm Select, COD, and related systems, and serves as the primary point of contact for loan-related data requests from internal departments, central administration, and external agencies. As a recognized subject-matter expert, the Assistant Director interprets and applies federal and state financial aid regulations and institutional awarding policies, making determinations that directly impact institutional compliance and student eligibility. The position provides ongoing leadership, direction, and oversight to the loan team, including Financial Aid Counselors and Coordinators, setting priorities, establishing procedures, and ensuring consistent application of policy. The Assistant Director operates with a high degree of autonomy under the general supervision of the Associate Director and collaborates closely with the Director of Financial Aid and the Financial Aid Systems team to support strategic initiatives, system enhancements, and continuous improvement of loan operations. Performs other duties as assigned.
