DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Facility Services Manager 1, you will plan, organize, direct, and supervise maintenance repair staff on minor and emergency maintenance repairs, in addition to collaborating with a Custodial Work Supervisor to manage custodial staff surrounding full service custodial duties and responsibilities. Work involves prioritizing assignments, supplying proper checklists, and providing necessary instructions to ensure balance and constant workload. You will also be responsible for conducting routine daily building inspections to ensure custodial, environmental control, and maintenance standards are achieved and that all deficiencies are cited. Within this role, you will have the opportunity to complete a full range of managerial duties and responsibilities, including training, evaluating performance, approving leave, handling complaints, and implementing the provisions of the AFSCME contracts. - Full-time employment
- This position is considered essential. You will be required to report to work during emergencies and office closings.
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years as a Facility Services Supervisor (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of routine maintenance work experience which includes two years of supervisory experience overseeing trades or building maintenance employees in a commercial, industrial, or multi-unit residential facility; or
- An associate's degree in commercial property management, commercial real estate, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, HVAC, electrical technology, electronics, building automation, construction, or a related field; and two years of supervisory experience overseeing trades or building maintenance employees in a commercial, industrial, or multi-unit residential facility; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes two years of supervisory experience overseeing trades or building maintenance employees in a commercial, industrial, or multi-unit residential facility.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.
