Job Summary

Job Summary

Under supervision of the Senior Cook Supervisor, the cook prepares and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner for groups ranging in size from 10-150. Coordinates portion size and cooking times in order to serve all customers a quality product. Prepares weekly menu and shopping lists, while coordinating scheduled deliveries from vendors. Provides back up support to the Senior Cook Supervisor.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

  • No Minimum Education required
  • Experience in industrial food service, cooking and serving for large groups.
  • Experience working with a number of vendors, keeping track of supplies, invoices and deliveries
  • Experience creating menus and supply orders using word processing programs and email.
  • Experience using email to communicate with staff.
  • Skill to judge proper portion size and coordinate cooking times of various dishes so they can all be served at once.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Service Safe Certified
  • Experience cooking and serving food in an institutional setting.
  • Experience placing supply orders via computer, telephone, fax and vendor websites.
  • Catering experience preparing, transporting to various locations, and serving meals while under time constraints and heavy work load.
  • Knowledge of preparing menu items to individuals with food allergies and dietary restrictions.

Work Environment
