Mode: Onsite

Duration: Full-Time

Pay Rate: $50 to 45/hour

Position Overview:

  • The Clinical Inpatient Pharmacist will provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care for inpatients, ensuring the safe, effective, and economical use of medications. The pharmacist will collaborate with the healthcare team, support clinical programs, participate in patient education, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.


Job Description:

  • Perform primary pharmacy duties in a professional manner
  • Respond promptly to cardiac arrest and emergency situations
  • Enforce medication management standards and compliance requirements
  • Monitor clinical and laboratory endpoints for medication effectiveness and safety
  • Conduct and coordinate clinical investigations and research
  • Verify prescriptions for dosage, interactions, allergies, therapeutic duplications, and appropriateness; intervene with providers as necessary
  • Assess metabolic needs and prepare enteral/parenteral nutrition products
  • Conduct patient discharge counseling on medication use, storage, side effects, and interactions
  • Maintain controlled substance procedures and documentation
  • Verify the accuracy of all pharmaceutical products, including chemotherapy preparations
  • Attend medical rounds and provide clinical consultation to medical staff
  • Complete training competency checklist within required timeframe
  • Precept pharmacy students and participate in educational programs
  • Maintain privileged provider status and complete peer reviews as assigned
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment
  • Document significant pharmacy interventions and interactions
  • Monitor and manage pharmacotherapy adjustments (e.g., aminoglycosides, vancomycin, warfarin)
  • Support wellness programs, including medication education and antibiotic stewardship
  • Compound medications using sterile techniques when required
  • Modify medication orders per local protocols (e.g., renal dosing, IV-to-PO conversions)
  • Participate in meetings and professional activities, including quality improvement and pharmacy staff meetings


Role & Responsibilities:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy
  • Current employees may qualify with either a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an ACPE-accredited institution
  • Board certification in a specialty recognized by the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties,
  • Completion of an accredited clinical pharmacy residency or fellowship,
  • Current, valid, unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in any U.S. state, territory, or district
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications


Computer Skill Competency :

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an inpatient pharmacist
  • Experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred
