Temple University's College of Public Health is searching for a Part-Time Research Assistant!

SALARY RANGE: $21.00 to $22.15 per hour

Position Summary:
The Siminoff Research Group for Informed Healthcare Decision Making and Effective Communication in the College of Public Health seeks a part-time research assistant (RA) to assist the lab's principal investigator with research-related tasks and to support projects, including a study about organ donation among Black Americans. Responsibilities will include recruitment of study participants and organizing, transcribing, and handling interview and survey data. Experience in wet labs (i.e. working with biological/chemical materials) is NOT pertinent to this role. A hybrid working format may be possible for the position, and 15-20 hours per week will be required.

Required Education and Experience:
*Minimum bachelor's degree in public health, social sciences, or health-related fields, and a minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience is required.
*Undergraduate research experience may also be considered, although graduate experience is preferred.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
*Experience in wet labs (i.e. working with biological and chemical materials) is NOT pertinent to this role.

Required Skills and Abilities:
*Prior experience with social/behavioral studies involving interviews and surveys
*Prior experience with subject identification and recruiting hard-to-reach populations for study participation
*Prior experience with audio-recorded interviews
*Prior experience handling highly sensitive participant data
*Data entry
*Proficiency in MS Office Suite applications (e.g. Teams)
*Familiarity with online data capture platforms (e.g. REDcap, Qualtrics)
*Proficiency with academically oriented internet search engines (e.g. PubMed)
*Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks
*Must have strong written and oral communication skills
*Must have strong organizational skills
*Excellent time-management skills
*Must be attentive to detail and adhere to deadlines
*Some experience with medical terminology

Preferred Skills and Abilities:
*Experience with data collection, e.g. surveys, in-depth interviewing, semi-structured interviewing
*Familiarity with people search engines and databases
*Knowledge of health disparities

Essential duties:
*recruiting study participants
*Transcribing audio-recorded interview files
*Data entry
*Document editing and preparation
*Assisting with manuscripts for publication
*Administrative tasks
*Maintaining study files

This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
