At MFS, you will find a culture that supports you in doing what you do best. Our employees work together to reach better outcomes, favoring the strongest idea over the strongest individual. We put people first and demonstrate care and compassion for our community and each other. Because what we do matters - to us as valued professionals and to the millions of people and institutions who rely on us to help them build more secure and prosperous futures. THE ROLE The Legal Rotational Associate will have the unique opportunity to experience all aspects of in-house legal support at MFS Investment Management and will actively assist our attorneys with the delivery of legal services in support of MFS' investment management services business. WHAT YOU WILL DO The Legal Rotational Associate will rotate through several U.S.-based practice areas in an 18-month fellowship, gaining a working understanding of the major legal and regulatory areas that are important to the business of a major international asset manager. Among others, these include each of the practice areas:
The Legal Rotational Associate will conduct legal research, draft memoranda and business correspondence relating to that research, present the results to our attorneys and internal business partners, and gain experience reviewing and drafting contracts and disclosure documents. The Legal Rotational Associate will actively participate in business and industry meetings/conference calls, and complete assignments that will benefit both the Legal Rotational Associate and MFS. This will be the fourth rotation in a row offered by the MFS Legal Department. Throughout the 18-month long program, the Legal Rotational Associate will be guided and assisted by one senior attorney who will oversee the program as well as another in-house attorney who will assist in overseeing the program (including serving as the Associate's manager during the Associate's rotation on their team) and act as a formal mentor. The program will begin in September 2026, with the exact start and end dates to be determined by MFS and the selected Legal Rotational Associate. The Associate will work in a hybrid format combining remote and in-person work in our Boston, Massachusetts office. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
