Enterprise Cybersecurity Data Engineer and Business Intelligence Developer

The Opportunity:

As an Enterprise Cybersecurity Data Engineer and Business Intelligence (BI) Developer, you will apply expertise in business intelligence to wrangle data and develop custom visualizations in Power BI. You will engage with stakeholders to comprehend client challenges, prototype new ideas and technologies, and help create solutions that drive data-driven decision making. You will ensure the quality delivery of software through thorough testing, data validation, and reviews. You will apply leading-edge principles, theories, and concepts, and contribute to the development of new principles and concepts. You will work on unusually complex problems and provide highly innovative solutions. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

How You'll Contribute:

As a Cybersecurity Data Engineer and Business Intelligence Developer on our team, you'll:

  • Develop and maintain 20+ Power BI dashboards, 10+ audiences and 2 Power BI applications across 4 Power BI workspaces
  • Document data transformations, dashboards, and automated metrics in a team Confluence page
  • Extract, transform, and load data from various data sources using Python or SQL
  • Apply consulting skills and AI expertise by gathering technical requirements, distilling the requirements into tasks, delivering to the customer, and iterating on the dashboards
  • Grow your communication and technical skills by merging advising and technology to create automated and efficient solutions

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience using business intelligence or data visualization tools to aggregate and analyze data collected from various sources, such as Power BI
  • 5+ years of experience using advanced analytical methods, storytelling methods, and data visualization tools to develop data-driven narratives
  • 3+ years of experience working with SQL or Python languages
  • Knowledge of front-end design and data visualization techniques and UI/UX methodologies and best practices
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts and distill information into coherent and compelling narratives, making it accessible to a broad audience
  • Ability to collaborate with business analysts or users to clarify requirements and work closely with different business groups to comprehend and respond to their reporting and dashboard needs
  • Ability to demonstrate clean coding habits, including ensuring quality
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to be self-motivated and pay strict attention to detail
  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information technology, or data science in a professional work environment
  • Experience in User Experience (UX) and design
  • Experience with analytics and data science techniques, including natural language processing, random forest, clustering, optimization, and linear programming
  • Knowledge of experimental research methodologies
  • Possession of strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Possession of strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting complex information in a clear and concise manner
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related field

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
