Job Description




As a Security Officer - Facility Patrol in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a cultural institution location, you will conduct routine foot patrols of grounds and common areas, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with calm, professional communication. You will support guests, staff, and events with customer-service focus while documenting observations and reporting issues. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to guests, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a public cultural location.
  • Respond to incidents, guest concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report observations per site protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of grounds, walkways, gathering areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or maintenance concerns for notification.
  • Monitor public areas during programs and special events, assist with crowd flow and line management as directed, and help maintain orderly access to restricted or staff-only areas.
  • Complete written and/or electronic activity logs, incident reports, and patrol documentation, and communicate status updates to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
