What you'll do

The Area Vice President (AVP) of Enterprise Sales is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving the strategy, execution, and hyper-growth of our most strategic market segment. You will lead a high-performing organization of Regional Vice Presidents (RVPs) and Enterprise Account Executives (AEs) dedicated to transforming how the world's largest organizations manage their critical business agreements. Accountable for your territory, you will bridge the gap between corporate strategy and field execution, ensuring the consistent delivery of the Docusign IAM Platform's value to complex enterprise customers.

This position is a people manager role reporting to the SVP of Enterprise North America Sales.

Responsibility

  • Lead and scale an Enterprise sales organization by recruiting and developing top-tier leadership talent (RVPs) and fostering a culture of high accountability and coaching

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive multi-year territory strategy to exceed revenue targets, focusing on both net-new logos and aggressive expansion within the existing global install base

  • Provide executive sponsorship on large deals by partnering with RVPs and AEs to navigate complex negotiations and align Docusign's platform value with long-term customer digital transformation goals

  • Maintain a rigorous, data-driven approach to forecasting and pipeline management through the disciplined use of sales tools and methodologies

  • Collaborate across internal functions, including Product, Marketing, and Customer Success, to influence the product roadmap and deliver optimal outcomes for enterprise customers

  • Build and maintain deep, trusted relationships with C-level executives at Fortune 500 companies to position Docusign as a mission-critical platform


Job Designation

Remote: Employee is not required to be in or near an office frequently and works from a designated remote work location for the majority of the time.

Positions at Docusign are assigned a job designation of either In Office, Hybrid or Remote and are specific to the role/job. Preferred job designations are not guaranteed when changing positions within Docusign. Docusign reserves the right to change a position's job designation depending on business needs and as permitted by local law.


What you bring

Basic

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent in relevant sales leadership experience

  • 15+ years of enterprise SaaS/PaaS sales experience

  • 7+ years of management experience, including specific experience managing other sales leaders (RVPs)

Preferred

  • Experience managing large accounts with long and complex sales cycles in a platform-selling or multi-product environment

  • Demonstrated ability to consistently generate revenue and exceed quota by managing the process for identifying, qualifying, and closing multi-million dollar contracts

  • Excellent executive-level verbal and written communication and presentation skills

  • Proven track record of building net new business at an Area level across multiple RVP owned territories and verticals

  • Strong strategic acumen with the ability to translate corporate vision into actionable sales plays across different business units


Wage Transparency

Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

California: $214,800.00 - $311,925.00 base salary

Illinois, Colorado, Massachusetts and Minnesota: $206,400.00 - $291,525.00 base salary

Washington, Maryland, New Jersey and New York (including NYC metro area): $206,400.00 - $303,450.00 base salary

Washington DC: $214,800.00 - $303,450.00 base salary

Ohio: $199,000.00 - $281,050.00 base salary

This role is also eligible for the following:

  • Bonus: Sales personnel are eligible for variable incentive pay dependent on their achievement of pre-established sales goals. Non-Sales roles are eligible for a company bonus plan, which is calculated as a percentage of eligible wages and dependent on company performance.
  • Stock: This role is eligible to receive Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
