JOB TYPE Classification: Non Exempt Supervises Positions:N/A JOB SUMMARY The Cultural Ambassador I provide a variety of customer service duties, including support, interpretation, and acting as a cultural broker to help create a positive patient experience for non-English-speaking patients, family members, and visitors. Competencies:
QUALIFICATIONS Education:High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's Degree preferred. Experience: Minimum of 0-2 years of experience in a foreign language medical interpreter healthcare role. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details. Licensure:National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters (NBCMI) or Certified Healthcare Interpreter (CHI) preferred. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Proficient in the use of computer software, including the Microsoft Office suite or similar. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of authority. Successful completion of the 40-hour "Bridging the Gap" course. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: N/A The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Physical Demand Code:Sedentary to Light Physical Demand: The job requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, and bending/stooping. Frequent repetitive body movements. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 20 lbs. occasionally.
