Job Type: Full Time; Vessel Rotation

Schedule: Multiple rotations available, including 28/28, 28/14, 21/21, and 14/14. Crewmembers work either 6 hours on / 6 hours off or 12hour watches depending on vessel needs.

You will support the vessel's navigational operations, maintain situational awareness, assist with tow handling, and help ensure safe, efficient movements throughout the Inland River System. What you will be doing... Your IMPACT



  • Navigate the vessel safely at all times and ensure watch standing duties follow ACBL safety policies.
  • Lead, train, and monitor crew members to ensure safe and proper performance of all tasks.
  • Serve as the designated Vessel Security Officer and carry out responsibilities under the Vessel Security Plan.
  • Ensure each crew member understands the cargo and associated hazards in compliance with CFR 35.0515b.
  • Enforce company policies and vesselspecific guidelines supporting the Crew Endurance Management System.
  • Support crew management, performance evaluation, and overall supervisory responsibilities.
  • Manage the vessel budget and help maximize operational cost efficiency.
  • Maintain required logs, complete accurate documentation, and ensure proper radio communications.
  • Report Certain Dangerous Cargoes (CDC) movements and communicate effectively with crew, shoreside personnel, USCG, and lock personnel.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.


What we are looking for...

You will need to have:



  • Master of Towing Vessels required
  • Inland Waters or Near Coastal endorsement required
  • Must meet USCG physical examination requirements
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to/from vessels or training locations
  • Ability to work 6/6 or 12hour watches
  • Experience pushing barges (tows of 6 or more preferred)
  • Ability to climb steep stairs and sit or stand for extended periods
  • Ability to ride in or pilot a crew boat or zodiac to access vessels
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Must maintain valid USCG licensing
  • Must maintain an active TWIC


Even better if you have:


  • Prior experience in inland marine towing operations
  • Previous supervisory or crew leadership experience
  • Strong communication and situationalawareness skills
