The Opportunity

Adobe's communications team helps define how the world understands Adobe by showcasing our products, innovation, and customer and industry impact for media, creators, partners, and the broader market. This role will focus on Adobe's creativity business and the people that power creative expression globally in the era of generative AI!

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Product Communications. The ideal candidate will lead communications for Adobe's creator and creative professional product portfolio including imaging, video, design, audio and more. This includes Adobe Firefly, Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, Lightroom, and Creative Cloud applications! This senior leader will manage a team that develops and delivers high-impact communications strategies that define how Adobe supports creators and creative professionals globally.

This global leadership role is pivotal in shaping Adobe's leadership in the creative industry, driving narratives that resonate with creators, creative professionals, and a global creative ecosystem.

What you'll Do

  • Own and evolve Adobe's creator and creative professionals core narratives, with an emphasis on generative AI innovation in creative workflows and tools.

  • Build and drive PR strategies that speak to these audiences, including individual artists and content creators to creative directors, agencies, filmmakers, and production teams.

  • Oversee development of storytelling and content, including executive media interviews and speaking engagements, press materials, creator stories, thought leadership, research, and industry narratives.

  • Drive communications for product announcements, events, tentpole moments, creator-focused activations, and Adobe-owned experiences such as Adobe MAX.

  • Drive media results across creative, technology, business, and entertainment outlets. Build strong relationships with press, creators, and influential voices.

  • Identify external breakthrough moments and themes across culture, industry and generative AI. Develop communication strategies to lead those conversations.

  • Lead and mentor a communications team delivering product and customer communications. Model and encourage business proficiency and creative and strategic storytelling.

  • Collaborate with product, marketing, social, community, legal, and communications teams to drive clear, differentiated messaging.

  • Be a strategic thought partner to senior leaders. Proactively shape communications based on industry trends, competitive dynamics, audience needs, and emerging opportunities in creative generative AI.

What you need to succeed

  • High-growth communications experience: 12+ years of experience in product, corporate, or brand communications within technology, creative software, media, or related industries.

  • Team leadership at scale: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and nurture high-performing teams while influencing across the organization.

  • Success in fast-paced environments: Experience developing and implementing global communications strategies in agile, rapidly evolving organizations.

  • Audience familiarity: Passion and curiosity for creative trends, careers, and modern workflows.

  • Creative and exceptional storytelling: Ability to conceptualize, evolve, and communicate narratives that define product leadership and cultural relevance.

  • Generative AI proficiency: Demonstrated aptitude for shaping communications around emerging technologies, including generative AI, and applying it to your work.

  • Modern communications expertise: Command of digital storytelling, social platforms, multimedia content, and communications channels.

  • Executive presence: Excellent judgment and ability to influence at senior levels while bridging strategy and hands-on work in a highly matrixed, global organization.

Expected Pay Range:

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionis $153,200 -- $323,550 annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.
In California, the pay range for this position is $223,500 - $323,550

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
