Parker Meggitt Aerospace Group, a recent addition to Parker Hannifin, is a global leader in the Commercial and Military Aerospace markets, specializing in a wide range of products including fire and smoke detection systems, extinguishing systems, bleed air overheat detection systems, actuators, rudder pedal assemblies, pumps, fuel gauging systems, and high-temperature cables. Located in Simi Valley, CA, this site is within the Fire Safety & Power Systems Division (FSPSD) and is a key supplier in select energy markets, particularly in nuclear gas analyzers and nuclear containment vessel penetration cables. We work directly with some of the largest aerospace companies in the world, including Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, and Lockheed Martin, among others.

FINANCIAL ANALYST 1 (FP&A & Gov't Compliance)

Position Summary: Join our Finance team and help turn complex program and financial data into clear insights that drive better decisions. In this role, you'll support government contract compliance and internal stakeholders by building forecasts, tracking performance, and improving the reporting that leaders rely on to run the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Support budgeting and forecasting across programs, departments, and indirect cost structures (as applicable).
  • Track performance vs. plan by analyzing revenue, cost, margin, and cash drivers-then explain the "why" behind variances.
  • Partner with program and operations teams to understand contract requirements, staffing plans, funding profiles, and execution risks.
  • Build and maintain financial models (labor planning, rate impacts, scenario analysis, what-if sensitivity).
  • Prepare recurring reporting packages (monthly/quarterly) with clear narratives and actionable recommendations.
  • Assist with GovCon financial processes such as indirect rate monitoring and compliance-aware reporting.
  • Contribute to close activities by supporting accruals, reclasses, and reconciliation of financial results to forecasts.
  • Improve and automate spreadsheets, dashboards, and templates to reduce manual work and increase consistency.
  • Respond to ad hoc analysis requests from Finance leadership and executive stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, structured modeling; Power Query a plus).
  • Ability to summarize complex findings into clear, decision-ready messaging.
  • Comfort working with deadlines, ambiguity, and multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in Government Contracting (GovCon) environments (preferred)
  • Familiarity with indirect rates, cost pools, or FAR/DFARS-adjacent concepts (preferred)
  • Exposure to tools such as Power BI/Tableau, SAP, or similar (preferred)

Education & Experience:

  • Years of experience: min 2 years of experience in finance, accounting, analytics, or business operations (internships welcome).
  • Education requirement: Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
