Overview

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking a Civil Engineering Project Manager to join our growing Site Development team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This is an opportunity for an experienced engineer to combine technical expertise, project leadership, and client relationship management while supporting a diverse mix of commercial, industrial, institutional, energy, and renewable energy projects.

Our Pittsburgh office serves as CEC's headquarters and is home to more than 440 professionals, including one of the firm's largest Civil/Site Engineering groups with more than 65 engineers and designers. In this role, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while leading projects ranging from commercial and industrial developments to energy facilities, university expansions, and renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities:

    Manage civil/site development projects from planning and permitting through design, bidding, construction, and project closeout
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, guiding projects while ensuring successful delivery of scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships while identifying opportunities for additional services and future project work
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, including survey, geotechnical, traffic, environmental, ecological, and construction professionals
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, staffing plans, and technical deliverables
  • Lead permitting efforts and navigate municipal, county, state, and regulatory approval processes
  • Conduct technical reviews and provide quality assurance on project deliverables
  • Mentor and support the development of junior and mid-level engineers and designers
  • Participate in industry organizations, conferences, client meetings, and business development activities to support continued practice growth

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant design and permitting experience, including earth disturbance and stormwater permits and the municipal approval process
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • Civil design and permitting experience related to site layout, grading, stormwater management, and erosion and sediment control
  • Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary projects involving survey, environmental, geotechnical, traffic, and construction-phase services
  • Ability and desire to mentor junior staff
