Summary

Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, the Facilities Operations Specialist plays a key role in ensuring Summit's facilities are safe, functional, and welcoming for employees and members. This role balances hands-on technical work - managing preventive maintenance, repairs, vendor relationships, and capital projects - with office-based coordination and support of Field Techs. This role serves as a key liaison between facilities staff, branch managers, operations teams, and external contractors, with a focus on service and operations excellence, safety compliance, and efficient resource utilization.

Expected Outcomes



  • Proper planning and clear communication with all stakeholders ensures that maintenance requests are processed timely and efficiently, resulting in reduced downtime and improved internal customer satisfaction
  • Facilities and grounds consistently meet safety, cleanliness, and operational standards as evidenced by timely maintenance resolutions and positive feedback from stakeholders
  • Projects are managed effectively and completed on time
  • Preventative maintenance programs and inventory strategies are implemented to reduce downtime and costs
  • Vendor relationships are managed effectively to ensure quality service delivery, cost effectiveness, and timely project completion
  • Policies and procedures are developed and communicated as necessary to ensure efficient and safe operations and the ideal member experience
  • Compliance with safety and regulatory requirements is maintained across all managed properties
  • After-hour call support is provided, as needed, to help maintain a safe and secure environment and minimize negative operational impacts



Capability Requirements



  • Associate's degree in Facilities Management, Construction, Business Administration, or related field; or applicable work experience, education, and certification
  • 6 or more years of experience in a facilities maintenance manager or lead role, including both office and field operations.
  • Proven experience overseeing the work of maintenance staff and contractors, including coordinating assignments and scheduling.
  • Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance systems, building codes, regulatory requirements, and safety procedures.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and establish effective working relationships at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, facilities management software and CMMS platforms
  • Adaptable to new technologies and systems.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between facility locations as needed.

  • Physical Demands of Position: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit, stand and walk, use hands and fingers. The employee occasionally must reach above and below shoulder level, and lift/push/pull and /or carry up to 100 pounds.
  • Environmental/Working Conditions: Works in a typical administrative setting with climate control and appropriate lighting. Travel to branches requires exposure to outdoor and traffic conditions.
  • Equipment Used: Variety of office equipment (telephone, printer, pc, mobile devices, etc).
