Position Summary

Receive customer orders, prepare quotations, process documentation and expedite shipments of products effectively and economically while maintaining premier customer service.

Responsibilities

Support and adhere to Parker's Code of Ethics, ISO requirements, policies, and procedures and observe housekeeping guidelines. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Essential
* Plan and arrange work, receive and process customer orders and inquiries, review and check data to verify accuracy.
* Interpret and determine applicable products, refer to parts and price lists, enter specifications data into the computer system or manually prepare estimates, quotations or proposals.
* Review customer order status; keep abreast of inventory status and manufacturing conditions to be able to react to meet customer requirements.
* Analyze order specifications and determine documentation and special handling requirements consistent with domestic and foreign trade regulations.
* Prepare documentation such as shippers' letter of instructions, certificates of origin, and similar documents to accompany international shipments.
* Coordinate and expedite orders in conjunction with production control and shipping to ensure timely completion and shipment.
* Respond to inquiries regarding pricing, order status and changes, product availabilities and product information, and suggest substitution.
* Provide timely information to the customer's satisfaction including requests for literature and product specifications.
* Determine most economical shipping method to best serve customer needs.
* Interpret or contact engineering and application personnel to determine applicable products according to customer information.
* Trace delayed, lost or incomplete shipments, investigate circumstances and provide requested information to the customer.
* Compose correspondence related to export customer service.
* Prepare and maintain various records, reports and files.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: Requires a college degree or a combination of experience and education. 1-3 years customer service experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Strong communication skills required along with experience using Excel, PowerPoint and Word, and AS400 exposure. Spanish/English bilingual skills (verbal and written) preferred for communication with international customers.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend written and oral instructions, short correspondence, and memos and to write simple correspondence. Ability to communicate information in one-on-one situations to customers and other associates, managers, and supervisors to share information, solve problems and train. Good telephone communication skills.
Spanish/English bilingual skills (verbal and written) preferred for communication with international customers
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: N/A
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with issues requiring flexibility and judgement to resolve customer problems.
Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to operate various office equipment and proficient in a variety of software programs used in the department. Requires a good understanding of company products.
