Position Summary:
Serves as a department expert on data, analytical, and reporting needs related to healthcare operations, typically with broad cross-functional implications. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of the operations supported; understands PPOC breadth of data, structures, and processes, and the technologies and methods for data analysis; acts as a business partner/consultant to end users and their leadership teams. Leads the department's efforts in large-scale reporting projects and in solving some of the most difficult data-based decision-making concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides decision support for PPOC strategic and program planning and development.
  • Collects and analyzes metrics, identifies, interprets, and communicates trends, and prepares recommendations to achieve specified goals and objectives. Advises management on issues and prepares special reports and analyses as requested.
  • Performs complex and/or predictive modeling to inform key decisions related to revenue cycle analysis, outpatient clinic operations, market trends relevant to pediatrics, and other indicators of business health for an independent practice.
  • Leads and/or investigate complex analysis requests, typically involving significant root cause analyses.
  • Provides ad hoc reports per requests from operational and financial teams.
  • Builds and ensures access to role-specific dashboards and content to provide actionable insights to various stakeholders.
  • Generates reports to support the identification of improvement opportunities in practice operations.
  • Works with operational leadership and teams to promote self-service reporting adoption.
  • Collaborates with IT on additional data sets, custom reports, and dashboard/visualization needs for PPOC leaders and the PPOC's independent member practices.
  • Collaborates with IT and clinical analysts on data governance to ensure consistent terminology and definitions throughout the organization.
  • Prepares reports and documents for outside departments, regulatory agencies, and other external organizations as required
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree
Experience:
  • 3 years of experience in healthcare setting
  • Previous experience working with revenue cycle and/or healthcare operations data; previous experience with Epic Cognito
  • Proficient in Tableau reporting and visualization tools.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
