Position Summary

This role is part of a dynamic operations team delivering vital medicines to patients globally. The Production Manager upholds GSK Values and Expectations, working collaboratively with colleagues and support groups. Reporting to the Value Stream Lead and Site Leadership, they are responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and cost-effective execution of biopharmaceutical processes, and coordinating with department heads on projects to enhance performance for current and future products

Responsibilities

  • Carry out tasks and interactions in accordance with GSK's core values: Accountability for Impact, Ambition for Patients, and Doing the Right Thing.
  • Follow GSK's leadership expectations by focusing on priorities, motivating others, and supporting team growth to encourage high performance.
  • Partner with the NPI leads and support team managers for the successful implementation of new products and equipment.
  • Manage 4 shift operations in a 24/7 facility, overseeing production supervisors, specialists, and front-line staff.
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturing, safety, and environmental regulations (GSK QMS/EHS, CFR/cGMP, OSHA, local/state/federal requirements).
  • Oversee documentation practices, approve Batch Documents, and ensure SOP and logbooks are maintained and within compliance, and ensure sufficient data integrity controls in place.
  • Set departmental priorities using operational data and staff capacity.
  • Meet department and site KPIs for safety, quality, and supply.
  • Approve safety and compliance investigations; promote transparency and a values-driven culture.
  • Hold teams accountable for cross-functional activities like engineering, validation, and tech transfer studies.
  • Recommend updates to digital platforms.
  • Develop workforce plans for staff development and performance management.
  • Define production and staffing requirements to meet schedules.

Why You?

Basic Qualification

We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor's degree in technical discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in biopharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing.
  • Minimum 3 years of people leadership experience overseeing both direct and indirect reports

Preferred Qualification

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • 5 or more years of experience in large-scale manufacturing preferred.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication abilities are essential, as is the capacity to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Experience in hands-on operations, previous people leadership roles, and participation in responsibilities beyond production operations are preferred.
  • A demonstrated commitment to quality and compliance, accompanied by a proven track record.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills, as well as strong influence and relationship-building capabilities with a focus on teamwork, are also necessary.
