We are seeking a Inventory Control Specialist | Engineering Technician in our San Antonio location. As a Inventory Control Specialist | Engineering Technician, you will contribute to Wenger Corporation's strategy to provide an exceptional customer experience by providing direct support to a team of engineers to develop process documentation, provide operational support of new and existing products, support continuous improvement activities, and manufacturing documentation.

At a minimum, you'll need:



  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 12 months manufacturing fabrication or assembly experience
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings


It'd be great if you also have:



  • Technical degree and/or experience in related engineering/drafting
  • Good knowledge of or ability to learn and use Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
  • Good knowledge of ERP system and how it interacts with the different areas in production (engineering, manufacturing, planning, and quality)
  • Exposure to AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CAD/CAM machine programming software



As a Inventory Control Specialist | Engineering Technician, a typical day might include:



  • Enter bills of materials and standard routing configurations within ERP system to ensure complete, accurate, and effective designs to manufacturing.
  • Work cross functionally entering new requests and/or existing information in company ERP system.
  • Works in an independent manner under the guidance of a supervisor or technical lead. Assignments have clear and specified objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables.
  • Support system maintenance, equipment or process design and development, validation of equipment, materials and processes, preparation of specifications.
  • Support production CNC equipment with programming knowledge
  • Expert in company ERP system to include providing training and support to the engineering team.
  • Processes Engineering Change Request and Engineering Change Orders with engineering team. This involves entering information into the company ERP system for engineering changes and new product introductions as well as costing of parts and setting up the manufacturing routing.
  • Update bills of material and routings as necessary to facilitate component changes
  • Verifying and matching up engineering information and standard parts
  • Provides limited technical assistance and information to production, engineering groups and outside consultants, contractors, and various departments
  • Perform cost analysis of new products during the prototype phase. This involves working with the engineer to make preliminary product cost estimates for all parts including manufactured and purchased parts.
  • Participates in continuous improvement efforts with engineering and operations.
  • Assists with data reports and time studies
  • Works closely with engineering, estimating, production, and quality teams.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining work instructions
