About the Team,Within EngOps, the Azure Communications Manager (ACM) team builds and operates a mission critical, dial tone platform that delivers timely, accurate, targeted, and actionable communications to customers during platform initiated events-such as service issues, planned maintenance, security advisories, and billing changes. ACM sits at the center of Microsoft's communications ecosystem, ensuring that customers and internal stakeholders receive clear, trustworthy information when it matters most.The team is evolving ACM into a highly reliable, AI assisted, policy enforced platform that reduces manual toil, improves communication quality, and helps customers quickly understand and act on platform changes. This work directly impacts customer trust, service credibility, and Microsoft's operational excellence at cloud scale.

Responsibilities * Lead the team in defining goals, planning work, and executing against clear priorities-delivering results with a dedicated focus on quality, reliability, and customer impact.
* Provide technical leadership and guidance across system architecture, design, development, deployment, and livesite operations for a largescale, missioncritical service.
* Partner closely with Product Management, Engineering Operations leaders, and Azure product teams to align on strategy, roadmap, and execution across short and
longterm horizons. * Establish and manage priorities in a fastpaced, evolving environment, balancing feature delivery, operational excellence, and technical debt reduction.
* Build, develop, and retain a highperforming engineering team through thoughtful hiring, coaching, feedback, and career development.
* Foster a culture of inclusion, accountability, learning, and continuous improvement within the team.
* Drive effective engineering practices, including modern design patterns, secure and resilient service design, and agile delivery models.
* Enable effective crossgroup collaboration, sound technical decisionmaking, and healthy conflict resolution.

Software Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
