Security Guard - Visitor Screening

As a Security Guard - Visitor Screening in Cranbury, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a high-traffic retail and mall location, you will greet associates and visitors, manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor alarms and/or access systems, and complete detailed reports using a computer or tablet. Your visible presence and calm communication help to discourage security-related incidents while delivering a positive customer experience. You will work with a caring, agile team that acts with integrity and teamwork.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to guests, tenants, and store teams by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Control access at designated entrances by greeting visitors, checking identification and/or credentials as required, issuing visitor passes, and directing traffic to the appropriate mall or store locations.
• Monitor CCTV and access control systems, document observations, and report suspicious activity, hazards, and/or policy violations to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with lost and found inquiries, crowd concerns, and/or disruptive behavior while coordinating with on-site management.
• Complete required reports such as daily activity logs, incident reports, and visitor records, and communicate updates during shift turnovers to support consistent post operations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
