Job Description Summary
The IT Support Analyst provides audio/visual hardware, software, installation, troubleshooting and support services for Nazareth University faculty, staff, administration and students, proactively ensuring that the technology operations environment is fully functional and optimized to meet the needs of the campus community on a daily basis. The IT Support Analyst also researches emerging technologies and makes recommendations on design and approach based on user requirements and budget considerations.

The IT Support Analyst independently plans and manages cross-functional AV infrastructure projects, and may be designated to act on behalf of the Director, Technology & Media Support Services. Areas of technology focus for this position include: audio/visual technologies (including switchers, projectors, amplifiers, microphones), lecture capture and streaming solutions, video/web conferencing, specialized academic software licensing, digital signage and others as required.
Essential Functions

  • Plans, installs, troubleshoots, and performs preventive maintenance and basic repairs on all audio/visual equipment and other specialized hardware/software solutions, with emphasis on classrooms/labs, clinics, conference rooms and other non-office campus spaces.
  • Independently manages/coordinates cross-functional audio/visual infrastructure projects of medium to high complexity.
  • Prepares, researches and prices technical solutions and specifications in order to address users' needs (especially during the annual budget process).
  • Represents ITS on the Academic Space Planning Committee (ASPC)
  • Schedules and coordinates technology installations and repairs with 3rd party vendor partners.
  • Provides end user training assistance for classroom technology and audio/visual systems as needed.
  • Contributes requirements for images for different models of computers used by the Nazareth campus.
  • Assists with testing new images.
  • Utilizes the Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager console to deploy jobs, provide remote assistance, provide group management, and create/deploy images.
  • Maintains pertinent working documentation in the ITS Knowledge Base.


Develops and applies specialist skills in the following areas:

  • Audio/visual technology, lecture capture and streaming solutions, video/web conferencing, specialized academic software licensing, digital signage.
  • Provides second line support for audiovisual and video conference equipment setups for academic, administrative and community sponsored events.
  • Maintains inventory and maintenance records on all audio visual devices, computers and all other related equipment.
  • Organizes and maintains AV equipment and storage to allow for efficient workflow.
  • Contributes to enhancing existing documentation in the ITS Knowledge Base.
  • Offers input into TMSD student worker training materials.
  • Participates in professional development on an annual basis; focuses on acquiring, improving and applying technological and other skills that are essential to achieving the goals of the University.
  • Other duties as assigned including providing occasional off hours audio/visual support for campus events.

Required Education, Experience, Technology Applications and Skills

  • Associate's degree in A/V Technology and Communications or a related field, or an Associate's degree in any field with demonstrable relevant experience.
  • The IT Support Analyst must demonstrate basic competency level and aptitude pertaining to each essential function outlined.
  • In general, the individual should have at least 3-5 years' directly relevant experience to qualify for this position; however, exceptions can be made for individuals with a proven knowledge base (for example, a recent Computer Science graduate) and strong aptitude for learning in a highly technical environment.

Preferred Education, Experience, Technology Applications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Additional technical certifications (e.g. Extron ) are a plus.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • The position requires coordination with outside vendors on various A/V hardware installations and verifies the successful completion thereof.
Physical Requirements

  • The position requires working primarily in an office or campus setting with moderate to light noise.
  • Walking, lifting up to 60 lbs., working at a computer and some climbing will be required.
