Exercise Physiologist - Health and Fitness Center

The Duke Health and Fitness Center stands as a medically oriented fitness facility providingan extensive range of fitness and clinical programming and delivering comprehensive services to our local community. Our team of Exercise Physiologists/Specialists is seamlessly integrated into the Duke Healthcare system, enabling us to deliver secure clinical care in collaboration with the broader healthcare team. As a Clinical Lead position in our facility, this position would oversee all clinical staff training and education and clinical program oversight. Key Responsibilities:

* Provide comprehensive oversight as the Clinical Team Lead, managing our staff competency and training as well the safety and outcomes of our clinical programming.

* Monitor vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, symptoms, and blood glucose levels, ensuring accurate documentation within Epic, Duke's electronic medical records system.

* Formulate personalized exercise prescriptions tailored to clients with diverse health histories and varied goals.

* Deliver expert instruction in group fitness classes, both on land and in the pool.

* Offer individualized personal training services to a diverse client base, accommodating a range of health histories and objectives.

* Coordinate and lead small group exercise programming with precision and attention to individual needs.

* Maintain regular communication using fitness center technologies such as club Management software, Epic, Smartsheet, and Microsoft Teams.

* Actively contribute to internal marketing efforts by verbally promoting and cross-selling programs and services.

• Master's degree in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science required.
• Bachelor's degree plus ACSMCEP certification accepted.

• Level I: Minimum of 1 year of applicable experience (2 years preferred).
• Level II: Minimum of 3 years of applicable experience (leadership experience preferred).

• Level I:

• ACLS certification required (must be obtained within 6 months of hire date).
• ACSM certification as an Exercise Physiologist, Health Fitness Instructor, Group Exercise Instructor, or Personal Trainer required (must be obtained within 6 months of hire date).

• Level II:

• ACLS certification required.
• ACSM Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSMCEP) certification required.
