About the Role
We are seeking a Plant Director to lead our team in Stockton, CA. You will be accountable for leading end-to-end bakery operations - production, quality, safety, engineering, warehousing, and P&L- delivering the highest-quality food at the lowest possible cost while driving continuous improvement and regulatory compliance. Salary Range: $135.000.00 - $170,000.00 Core Accountabilities (What You'll be Doing)
- Lead bakery operations & P&L to meet budget, schedule, service, and performance targets across safety, quality, productivity, cost, and inventory.
- Champion safety, GMP, EHSS, and regulatory compliance, ensuring the bakery is inspection-ready and aligned with local, state, and federal requirements.
- Own production planning and materials/warehouse control (including FEFO) to meet demand, minimize waste, and optimize throughput.
- Drive Continuous Improvement (e.g., TPM/lean) and loss elimination, reducing downtime and elevating process capability and efficiency.
- Oversee quality systems and customer commitments, including audit readiness, CAPA execution, complaint resolution, and adherence to product specs.
- Lead capital planning and engineering projects with Corporate Engineering to deliver on-time, on-budget investments that improve safety, quality, and capacity.
- Develop, coach, and engage teams (including union relations), building bench strength, retention, and a high-performance culture.
Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or Finance and 7+ years of food manufacturing experience (including managerial); OR Associate's Degree with 10+ years of food manufacturing experience (including managerial).
- Proven leadership in food manufacturing with background in quality, accounting, engineering, or production.
- Strong communication, team-building, and decision-making skills; ability to solve complex problems using data.
- Working knowledge of process equipment, GMPs, EHSS, and regulatory compliance in a food environment.
- Budgeting experience and general P&L acumen; basic accounting knowledge and solid analytical/mathematics skills.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and word processing applications.
- Physical requirements: Ability to occasionally lift/move up to 50 lbs; stand/walk/climb for extended periods; use a computer >25% of work time; occasional travel (<10%).
Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)
- Experience leading in a multi-category, complex food manufacturing environment.
- Background working within TPM/lean systems and sustaining CI programs.
- Proven success managing vendors and third-party partners at the local level.
- Ability to take a global, enterprise-wide approach to operations and strategy.
- Experience with third-party audits, audit prep, and CAPA follow-through.
