We are seeking a highly capable Biologics & Devices Central Capital Lead to oversee the delivery of major capital investments across the B&D manufacturing network. This is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring that sites prioritise, plan and execute capital projects in line with Engineering Policy 03, the GSK Project Management Framework (PMF), and the Finance Manual.

As a key member of the B&D Engineering Leadership Team, you will partner closely with site engineering leads, project practitioners and crossfunctional partners to strengthen engineering capability, drive capital efficiency, and support strategic initiatives including Smart Manufacturing, OT security and sustainability.

This role reports to the Manufacturing Group Head of Engineering and provides regular updates into the B&D Performance Management forums.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate capital planning across B&D sites, ensuring alignment with strategic targets.
  • Guide sites through the development and maintenance of robust Facility Investment Plans (FIPs).
  • Oversee execution of a diverse portfolio of capital projects that enable manufacturing growth, regulatory compliance, and licencetooperate requirements.
  • Provide governance and ensure full compliance with PMF, Engineering Standards, Procurement processes and the Finance Manual.
  • Oversee business case development and present to the B&D Capital Board.
  • Build and strengthen engineering and project management capability across global and site teams.
  • Ensure contract partners deliver effectively against expectations, contractual conditions and PMF requirements.
  • Support strategic GSC initiatives including Smart Manufacturing, OT security and sustainability programmes
  • Serve as a senior engineering leader supporting capability development across B&D.
Your Impact

In this role, you will influence investment decisions across a 200-400M annual capital plan, protect a ~5Bn asset base, and drive the delivery of critical regulatory, Quality and EHSS projects essential to GSK's licence to operate.

Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Engineering degree (BSc) with strong grounding in capital project delivery and planning.
  • Demonstrated experience in project and portfolio management, including delivery of complex regional capital investments.
  • Experience in Facility Investment Planning (FIP/PIP).
  • Proficient with recognised project/programme management tools and methodologies.
  • Strong operational engineering background within pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Expertise in Construction Safety Leadership.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a matrix environment.
  • Experience with digital data analytics and programme management (preferred).

  • This role requires approximately 20-25% travel
