THE POSITION

Are you a design-minded leader ready to shape the standards that define the Commonwealth's spaces? The Program Manager of Design & Standards Integration serves as the agency's principal authority on furniture standards, architectural design guidelines, and Building Information Modeling (BIM) systems - driving consistency, innovation, and excellence across a statewide portfolio.

In this pivotal role, you will guide the development and evolution of standards that support modern, efficient, and high-quality spaces. You will also collaborate across bureaus, advise senior leadership on emerging trends and best practices, and ensure that design and BIM strategies align with long-term organizational goals and capital priorities. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enforcing enterprise-wide furniture, finish, and architectural standards. This includes evaluating emerging technologies and workplace strategies as well as providing expert guidance to ensure consistent application and compliance. Work also involves leading the development and governance of BIM standards, workflows, and data structures; overseeing, asset data, and system integrations to support lifecycle facility management; and ensuring consistent use across design, construction, and operations teams. You will have the opportunity to serve as the primary liaison coordinating standards, technologies, and design requirements across real estate, design, construction, maintenance, IT, and procurement. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Leading cross-functional efforts to resolve complex issues and ensure consistency
  • Monitoring industry trends and regulatory requirements
  • Conducting research and recommending updates to policies and standards to maintain compliance, innovation, and performance
  • Developing and overseeing training programs related to standards and BIM
  • Leading continuing education initiatives and providing mentorship and technical support to internal teams and partners

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

  • Note: This position requires travel to Harrisburg, or other locations around the state to conduct site visits or attend in person meetings.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Administrative Officer 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management of staff work in public or private organization, including experience in personnel management budgeting or procurement; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four-year college or university; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must have possession of a valid driver's license.
  • You must possess extensive working knowledge of commercial furniture systems.
  • You must have deep working knowledge of Autodesk Revit.
  • You must possess a thorough understanding of building codes, ADA compliance requirements, and construction regulations.
  • You must have excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
  • You must be committed to professional development and staying current with industry trends.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
