Spread Construction Manager - Pipeline

Building on our past. Ready for the future.
Worley is a global professional services company of energy, chemicals and resources experts. We partner with customers to deliver projects and create value over the life of their assets. We're bridging two worlds, moving towards more sustainable energy sources, while helping to provide the energy, chemicals and resources needed now.

Play an integral role in delivering one of the most complex pipeline construction programs in North America. As a Spread Construction Manager, you will lead field execution for a major pipeline spread on a mega-project in Alaska, supporting the safe and efficient delivery of infrastructure across remote, arctic terrain. This role is critical to ensuring work progresses safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project objectives across a challenging operating environment that includes remote logistics, extreme weather conditions, and 24-hour construction operations.

You will work alongside a highly experienced project leadership team, coordinating multiple contractors, managing camp-based workforces, and ensuring construction activities meet schedule, budget, and quality expectations.

Purpose of the role

You will be responsible for leading all field construction activities for a designated pipeline spread, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within or below budget, and in full compliance with contractual requirements.

This role provides strategic and operational leadership across field execution activities, aligning construction resources, contractors, and project teams to meet production targets and customer objectives. You will translate project plans into actionable construction strategies while maintaining strong alignment with project management, engineering, logistics, and environmental teams.

Operating across a vast project footprint that includes more than 15 construction camps and several hundred miles of pipeline corridor, this position requires a leader who understands how to deliver complex infrastructure in remote and arctic environments.

Core Responsibilities

You will be responsible for leading and coordinating all construction activities for a designated pipeline spread across the project corridor.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing field execution contractors and pipeline construction activities including clearing, grading, trenching, pipe stringing, welding, lowering-in, backfilling, and restoration.
  • Leading large construction teams operating in remote camp environments with continuous 24-hour operations.
  • Coordinating contractors, subcontractors, and internal project teams to ensure alignment with project schedules and production targets.
  • Monitoring construction progress, identifying risks to schedule or budget, and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Ensuring strict compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, particularly those unique to arctic and environmentally sensitive regions.
  • Supporting the development and execution of detailed construction work plans and spread-specific schedules.
  • Collaborating closely with engineering, logistics, procurement, and project controls teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Managing field resources across multiple camps and coordinating the movement of personnel, equipment, and materials along the pipeline corridor.
  • Providing leadership, coaching, and performance management for field supervisors and construction teams.
  • Preparing and presenting progress reports, performance updates, and technical briefings to project leadership and senior stakeholders.
  • Troubleshooting complex field challenges and developing tactical solutions that keep construction activities moving forward.
  • Ensuring adherence to contract terms, project procedures, and corporate policies throughout construction execution.
