POSITION SPECIFICS

The Biomolecular and Biomimetic Materials Laboratory in the Biomedical Engineering Department is seeking to hire two Postdoctoral Scholars to conduct independent research under the direction of Dr. Yong Wang. The lab recently achieved a breakthrough in hydrogel coating technology and is enthusiastic about applying this platform across a broad range of biomedical areas including diabetes treatment, cancer immunotherapy, single-cell analysis, and regenerative medicine. The lab invites applications for Postdoctoral Scholars with strong background in cell biology, diabetes treatment, immunology, single-cell analysis, and/or soft bioelectronics. Candidates with additional expertise in hydrogels and animal surgery are particularly encouraged to apply. This position offers an excellent opportunity to pursue impactful research in a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment.

Education and Experience:

The position requires a doctoral (Ph.D.) degree in Biomedical Engineering or related discipline by the time of appointment. Preference will be given to candidates with:

  • Expertise cell biology, diabetes, immunology and/or animal surgery

  • Strong ability to conduct independent research

  • An outstanding academic record, demonstrated by at least two first-author publications in high-quality peer-reviewed journals over the past three years

Candidate responsibilities include:

  • Lead independent research projects

  • Mentor and help guide graduate students in their research activities

  • Contribute to technical manuscripts, grant proposals, and collaborative publications
