Job Description

Responsibilities & Procedure:

3.1 Lead implementation of root cause analysis and corrective actions to solve process issues.

3.2 Assures product and process quality by setting process variables; establishing standards; and confirming manufacturing processes.

3.3 Develop and/or update training materials, standard operating procedures, work instructions, and forms to ensure that optimized processes are effectively adopted and maintained by teams.

3.4 To diagnose and resolve machine and processing problems to ensure product meets specifications and requirements.

3.5 Gather and analyze data, performance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to quantify process inefficiencies and track improvements over time.

3.6 To perform the job functions of the Process Engineering Supervisor in his absence.

3.7 Provides training to Group Leader staff.

3.8 Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures.

3.9 Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow.

3.10 Must be able to utilize the MATTEC production reporting system to control and improve the process. For example: production reporting downtime reports, SPC, SQC, etc.

3.11 Develops the manufacturing process by setting SPC limits and testing methods.

3.12 Responsible for the reliability of the Mattec program.

3.13 Exhibit leadership skills by overseeing and instructing activities of mold set up personnel and group leaders.

3.14 Generate Capex for New Mold and/or Refurbishment Molds

3.15 Able to process FAs in new and refurbished mold qualifications and lead discussions with production/project managers.

3.16 Prepare process reports by collecting and analyzing information.

3.17 Assists in sampling and testing.

3.18 Develop required new procedures to assure process consistency.

3.19 Contributes to team effort.

3.20 Supports and adheres to all Amcor safety policies.

3.21 Follows and supports all Amcor GMP's.

3.22 Other duties as assigned

4.0 Qualifications:

4.1 Skills

4.1.1 Must be able to remember department and company policies and procedures, and recall multiple operations.

4.1.2 Must be able to analyze and prioritize projects, and have the ability to respond to instructions, and follow through in an independent manner.

4.1.3 Must have the interpersonal skills with the ability to deal positively with others in a team environment

4.1.4 Must have leadership and communication skills for training in a classroom environment of the mold set up personnel and group leaders.

4.1.5 Ability to gather information quickly, communicates to others, and reacts in a timely manner.

4.1.6 Able to respond in emergency situations with a cool head, and be able to direct to the appropriate person.

4.1.7 Must be able to maintain focus on multiple duties, prioritize, and adjust schedule as necessary.

4.1.8 Must maintain ownership of responsibilities in the department and support the quality system process.

4.1.9 Must have a general mechanical ability.

4.1.10 Must be able to speak, write, and read effectively.

4.1.11 Good comprehension skills at a normal business level.

4.1.12 Must possess good verbal and written communication skills

4.1.13 Must be computer literate.

4.1.14 Must have required tools to perform job functions.

Education and/or Equivalent Experience

4.2.1 3 (Three) years of experience in plastic blow molding or equivalent on the job training.

4.2.2 Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or equivalent from a college or university in an engineering or related field; and one to five years related engineering experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

Must be able to work safely in the vicinity of open flames, hot plastic, oil and metal (at approximately 350-380 degrees). There is possible exposure to dust and odors from various substances such as oil, molten plastics, degreasers and cleaning solvents. Noise level is usually 90dB and above and requires ear protection. Must be able to work safely around sharp edges of machinery and moving machine components. Must wear the following personal protective equipment: rubber soled/ steel toed shoes, ear plugs, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves and forearm sleeves. Must be able to work safely in the vicinity of open flames, hot plastic, oil and metal (at approximately 350-380 degrees). There is possible exposure to dust and odors from various substances such as oil, molten plastics, degreasers and cleaning solvents. Will be required to lift on an occasional basis anywhere from 10-50 lbs. Must be able to carry approximately 50 lbs. for a distance of 100 ft twice a day on average. Must be able to push/pull a 1000 lb. mold into position on a machine table. Must be able to stand on average 7 hours a day. Must be able to detect visual defects in a bottle. Must be able to clearly distinguish shades in color. Must be able to hear and recognize various sounds such as emergency machine shutdown alarms. Bending and twisting at a 90 angle will be required for about 50% of the day. Must be able to read and understand all work procedures and instructions.
