The Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences is seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven Facilities Representative (Professional/Intermediate Professional Level) to serve as a key liaison for facilities operations that support cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, coordinating projects, and working collaboratively to ensure safe, efficient, and well-maintained spaces for our research community.

As a Facilities Representative, you will be the primary point of contact for facilities-related needs within assigned buildings, helping to coordinate maintenance, renovations, safety initiatives, and space planning. You'll work closely with University partners such as the Office of Physical Plant (OPP), Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), and Procurement, while supporting faculty, staff, and students in a dynamic research environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Facilities Operations and Project Coordination:

  • Serve as liaison with OPP for maintenance, repairs, and alterations, including monitoring work and resolving building issues
  • Support preventive and routine maintenance planning, energy conservation efforts, and facilities renewal initiatives
  • Assist in maintaining safe, clean and functional lab spaces including scheduling preventative maintenance with outside contractors

Safety, Compliance and Inventory:

  • Maintain awareness of and assist with regulatory and University compliance requirements
  • Act as a contact for safety-related matters, including hazardous and infectious waste procedures as assigned
  • Coordinate facility access and security and maintain equipment inventories and records

Budget and Administrative Support:

  • Processing payment documentation related to p-card purchases
  • Maintain accurate project files, space data, and facilities records

Collaboration and Service:

  • Represent the unit on University-wide initiatives and committees (e.g., parking, safety)
  • Communicate clearly with internal customers and team members to ensure timely, effective service
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement efforts for facilities operations

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

If filled as Facilities Representative - Professional, this position requires: Associate Degree No prior relevant work experience required; previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education. Required Certifications: None If filled as Facilities Representative - Intermediate Professional, this position requires: Associate Degree 2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $42,100.00 - $67,300.00.
