Learning Creds: High school diploma or GED.

Shop-Floor Smarts: Experience ranging from mechanical aptitude to 3 or more years of experience using a brake press operator, a CNC, a laser, and welding/fabrication.

What the Job Looks Like

• Correctly welds pieces of metal together.
• Prepares materials for welding, cuts, grinds, and cleans metal.
• Utilizes fabrication skills to complete all phases of fabrication.
• Be familiar with various raw metal materials and have knowledge of different material characteristics and thickness.
• Operate the CNC control on both the laser and loader.
• Read, understand, and interpret blueprints and other customer specifications, including quality documentation.
• Troubleshoot errors with the machine and loader and execute knowledge to adjust and edit as necessary.
• Meet production rates as set for each operation.
• Performs accurate measurement of facility product line components and assemblies.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Program and set up machines to produce the first article parts.
• Performing basic preventive maintenance on equipment and tooling to maximize machine uptime.
• Form parts utilizing CNC Press Brake equipment, assuring quality and productivity.
• Measures work, using a ruler, gauges, calipers, and templates.
• Will be trained to learn set-up procedures on simple to moderately complex parts.
• Following the Press Brake process standard operating procedures.
