What to Expect Consider before submitting an application: This position is expected to start May 2026 and continue throughsummerterm (endingapproximately August 2026or later, if available). We ask for a minimum of12 weeks, full-time (40 hours/week) and on-site, for most internships.Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program.Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year. In this roleyou'llbe expected toleverageyour thorough mechanical,electrical, and softwareengineering understanding, as well as knowledge of the global residential energy storage market toscopehardware products and software features across our products lines,helpingguide business and engineering decisions.This role requires coordination between manydifferent groupsinternal and external to Tesla, collaborating across teams such as hardware, softwareand compliance engineering, sales, business development, policy, and field operations to ensure the successful development and sustained improvement of our products. Location: Palo Alto, CA What You'll Do Work with engineering to define product requirementsfor new hardware products and software features,identifygaps in current functionality, andprioritize high value use cases,and make recommendations onproduct/experiencetrade-off decisions Lead market intelligence,customer feedback, and techno-economic analysisto drive product decisions Work with internal stakeholders andexternalcustomers to define the ideal user experience forour features, across product lines Outline the go to market strategy for a successful launchof the hardware product or software feature Provide visibility and engage leadership on key timeline risks, product tradeoffs, issues, and decisions What You'll Bring Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering or related field Strong knowledge of global energy storage markets and experience working directly withengineering,sales,business development teams Direct experience with solar, energy storage,home charging,electrical concepts, and home construction Experience and comfort working with large datasets Ability to present complex problems and solutionssimply and clearlytoan executive audiencetodrive decision making A relentless drive to make things happen, without accepting the status quo Ability tooperateindependently, bringing solutions and prioritization to complex problems Strong attention to detail and ability to manage simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment Compensation and Benefits Benefits As a full-time Tesla Intern, you will be eligible for: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans.
